Lyrebird Forest Walk

Located just out of Mirboo North township, the Lyrebird Forest Walk is a moderate one and a half hour bushwalk through native forests typical of the South Gippsland region. Signs on the main highway indicate the entrance to the car park and picnic area where the walking track begins and ends.

The track follows the Morwell River for one kilometre through green gullys of Eucalypts and tree ferns. After reaching open farmland (private property) the path follows the edge of the forest. Trees here are smaller and different species are featured. This section of the walk is generally more open. Halfway up the hill a secondary link track to Coral Fern Gully will take the bushwalker back to the carpark via a shorter 3km route.
