Mirboo North Playgroup & Toy Library

Mirboo North Playgroup & Toy Library meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in Couper Street from 9.30am - 11.30am. Playgroup is an informal session where mums, dads, grandparents, guardians, carers, children and babies meet together in a relaxed environment. We meet twice a week to socialise and play together. We have lots of great fun and education activities for kids 5 and under, with a fully equipped playground and Toy Library on site.

Families are welcome to attend whichever session best suits them. It is worth noting that Thursday is activity day, for which craft and occasional outings are formally organised, but also that there is an activities cupboard that people attending on Tuesdays can utilise to help keep the kids entertained.

AboutPlaygroup and Toy Library are run by a voluntary committee. For day to day running, this is a “hands on” playgroup. This means that all members are required to help out on the days that they attend playgroup to ensure that it runs smoothly and that children (and parents/carers) get the most of the their experience. Jobs are assigned to each member who attends a playgroup session when they sign in for the day (an insurance requirement). Please note that attending members will sometimes be required to help out more than their assigned job, for example, when playgroup is very busy with a special event occurring, or conversely when the session is quiet and there are insufficient members in attendance to cover all necessary jobs.
Toy LibraryIn Toy Library there is a huge range of toys, games, puzzles, videos/DVDs and dress ups for kids, plus a fantastic parent resource library to borrow from. Toy Library also has a party pack available for hire (at a discounted price to toy library members), which is a great way to add fun to any kid’s party at a very low price. Come in during playgroup sessions and see what’s on offer!
